Brilliant, stunning, and one of the best books I’ve read this year. Hopefully, my words are adequate to describe the feeling this book brought to me.
Nicholas is on a ship, doing someone else’s bidding. Meanwhile, Etta is kidnapped into another time and lands on a lurching ship hundreds of years into the past; the very same ship as Nicholas.
Sophia, the one responsible for bringing Etta to this time is answering to the head of the family who has plans for Etta that could have irreversible changes for her. Etta travels with Nicholas’ aid, all the while following clues that Rose, her mother left.
What made this book exciting and intriguing for me was the time-travel; moving from place to place, century to century. Places in history so vibrant they jumped off the page. A strong female character thrown into another equally strong character, Nicholas; their relationship from a different time is such an interesting twist. I’m all ready looking forward to the next book and please don’t keep me waiting long. I was gifted this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
